Established and upgraded to transform via rigor of regimental and academic training, young Nigerians with Senior Secondary Certificate of Examination into “a highly Reformed, Mobile, Innovative, Efficient and Civil Police Officers” with expectations of high repute for value-neutrality, diligence, incisiveness, discipline, patriotism and commitments to selfless service to humanity and nation building in a dynamic, complex and technologically driven world.

The Academy in its pursuit to the realization of its envisioned mission, vision and philosophy has remain glued to the standard it has established for itself through the desired democratic leadership of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari via the supervising Ministry of Interior Affairs and presently Ministry of Police Affairs.

In demonstration of his commitments to providing the Academy with the desired training atmosphere, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR is the first sitting President to visit the Academy in 2018 on the occasion of the Passing Out Parade Ceremony and formal Commissioning of Cadets of 1st Regular Course.

During his visit to the Academy, President Muhammadu Buhari reiterated the commitment of his administration to reform and transform the Nigeria Police Force in tandem with the security needs of modern challenges.

To facilitate the realization of this commitment, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR announced the reintroduction of the Ministry of Police Affairs to ease supervision and to enhance budget allocation for the Police with the Academy inclusive.

In 2019, President Muhammadu Buhari, was in the Academy for the second time on the occasion of the Passing Out Parade Ceremony and Formal Commissioning of Cadets ASPs of 2nd Regular Course of the Academy.

The President in his speech, reaffirmed his position to reforming and transforming the Nigeria Police Force through enhanced budgeting and special trusthfund interventions.

A follow-up to this, is the signing into law the Nigeria Police Bill and the Police Trust fund Bill by His Excellency, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari.

Consequently, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR has recently signed into law the Nigeria Police Academy Bill, giving the Academy the full status of academic and research institution as established by law.

Deeply passionate about the Nigeria Police Academy, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR was in the Academy for the third time on the occasion of the Passing Out Parade Ceremony and Formal Commissioning of Cadets of 4th Regular Course of the Academy, which took place on 16th June, 2022…
